Purple-Tinted Chilly Willys

Well, it's been a hot minute since I've posted here, so what the hell, here's a post to tide y'all over.

I've been noticing how some copies of Chilly Willy shorts tend to look more purple.

I initially thought the color correction for Half-Baked Alaska (1965) was goofed up for the Woody Woodpecker and Friends Classic Cartoon Collection: Volume 2 DVD set. But after acquiring an IB Technicolor 16mm of Snow Place Like Home (1966), I started to notice that the shorts were likely made with this purple tint.

Here's Half-Baked Alaska on the super rare fifteenth (and last) volume of the Columbia House DVDs (though the last few volumes are almost impossible to find nowadays).

Compare that to my 16mm print. Much better.
